Portfolio of Works

These are all studies, and I post them to encourage everyone else to go outside and paint. Outdoor painting is my sustenance; where all of my energy and ideas come from. The sun, air, birdsong, scurrying animals, the smell of mushrooms, sagebrush, nectar,... Nothing in-studio can come close to this.

"Studio" can sound so uppity!

These are paintings done indoors; some completely, others started outside and brought in to finish. They all reference outdoor images, and call upon outdoor painting experience.

Even cave art depicted elements from outside the cave, right?

Painting is drawing with masses. Drawing is painting with lines. Drawing is the essence of painting, for me. The more I practice one the more comfortable I feel doing the other. So pick up a pencil and draw whenever you get the chance!
